Home remedies are natural spices, vegetables, and other botanicals (plants) used singularly or mixed into compounds that possess properties that can prevent or treat certain ailments, illnesses, and undesirable conditions. Many of the common foods in your kitchen for example, garlic may be used as one of the many home remedies that will help to reduce cholesterol, or ginger that will help prevent motion sickness. Other home remedies are complex preparations of natural herbal formulas that come in various forms such as teas, capsules, syrups, pills, creams, gels etc.

Beat Cough With Home Remedies

A cough is an action that the body takes voluntarily or involuntarily to clear the air passages of phlegm or other irritants with a forceful expulsion of air.

It gets in the way of everyday tasks by causing the lack of the ability to concentrate, speak easily and confidently, and can be very tiring and stressful.

Coughing is a symptom not a disease and is caused by many conditions such as smoking, bronchitis, asthma, heartburn, common cold, sinus, pneumonia, and possibly cancer. .

Some Home Remedies for Cough:

Honey (about 1 teaspoon) mixed with chamomile tea, or lemon juice. or about a gram of turmeric powder, or grape juice, or olive oil, or chopped Onion, or Aloe Vera.

To help cut phlegm buildup, eat figs, gargle with salt and warm water, eat grapes as a natural expectorant.


Ginger placed in hot tea can help ease a cough.

Make a tea by boiling a couple of cinnamon sticks and then add lime juice and drink while hot.

Sprinkle sugar on half of a large onion and drain the juice off and drink it.

Sprinkle black pepper onto a tablespoon of honey and take it.

Try 1 or 2 spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar for a cough, tastes bad, works good and cuts phlegm.

Licorice in any form (powered in tea or chewable) is said to have anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties.
